28th July - Cycling in the rain
This week BikeLove took the opportunity to gather some of your thoughts about cycling in the rain... I began by hating it... and have slowly come around. It's about equipping your mind with a good slice of resilience before you set out. Failing that... a good pair of mudguards don't go amiss!

A few things to add: avoid cotton next to your skin, it soaks up humidity and makes you sweatier and wetter. A wool undershirt works wonders, either on its own like a t-shirt or under something else. Wool does't soak up as much humidity and doesn't get as smelly.
Secondly, a rain jacket with vents is great. The vents make a bigger difference then spacy breathing material. There are jackets with armpit zips, back vents, or both. Jackets from Showers Pass are a good example of what to look for.
Thirdly something that covers your thighs but leaves the rest to be ventilated. "Rainlegs" for example.
Riding in the rain is fun with the right clothes!
